The Taller de Gráfica Popular ("People's Graphic Workshop") is an artist's print collective founded in Mexico in 1937 that arose and grew amid anti-fascist and leftist politics in Mexico during the years of World War II. Taller de Gráfica Popular (TGP) used bold, handcrafted typography and raw printing techniques to create a visual language that aligned with working-class resistance and rejected the corporate modernism of the International Style. Their use of blocky serifs and folk-inspired letters increased accessibility while contrasting with the clean, geometric designs associated with global capitalism and elite organizations.
