Starting as a jug band, the LP 109's members were David Hillis, Kirk Linstrum, Jerry Radcliff, Gary Lawrence and Jacque Asbury Reynolds. After working for many rock bands in Bill Graham's Fillmore West and Winterland, they worked behind Santana's concert at Cow Palace for the New Year’s Eve.
