Mitsuchika on the Battlefield of Yamazaki  山崎古戦場の満親

4

The samurai Mitsuchika wanders amid the piles of dead on the Yamazaki battlefield. It was written in washi (Japanese paper) and its technique is Nishiki-e which involves multi-coloured woodblock printing. Japanese text written in the background provides detailed descriptions of the ongoing war, and the painting reflects the cruel essence of war.
