Scepter Records 45 RPM Label

6

This record is a 45 RPM vinyl produced by Scepter Records. The vinyl was pressed at the Terre Haute plant. The Scepter logo is a later variant of the logo that took up the center of the vinyl but is smaller and on the top right edge instead. The logo is set in a slab serif font on a white background that bleeds off the print, encapsulated within a black stroke. The background has a multicolored prism style, yellow but with some pink and blue as well. The remaining type is set in a simple black, bold, sans serif typeface.

Scepter Records from the beginning of their conception was a small indie label that mainly produced soul music. Their logo is not attributed to any specific designer and changed frequently throughout the company’s short lifespan, in a way reflecting the small, independent nature of the label itself.
