The land of Bergamo

Is courious to find an advertising poster of Bergamo, that surely isn’t the most known city in Italy. This poster originally designed by V.Ludmila has been changed and translated different times, i’m not able to tell which version is the first one, surely during the years the poster has been translated in english, italian and franch.

Probably originally promoted by ENIT (Agenzia Nazionale del Turismo), the ital- ian tourism national agency, the board has been promoted also by APT (Azien- da promozione turistica di Bergamo e provincia) and Regione Lombardia. There’s no a main character in this composition, the visual represent a collage of the most iconic place of the province: San Pellegrino and his casino, a man riding a horse that probably is Bartolomeo Colleoni in a statue sculpted by An- drea del Verrocchio, Malpaga castle, ski resorts of Foppolo, Iseo Lake, Piazza Vecchia, San Tomè and many other places and famous buildings.

The surely not realistic depiction combine together places that are also 100 kilometers far to each other, the white borders, thin on 3 sides ad bigger at the bottom, frame the city of Bergamo as in a Polaroid with a big red helvetica text signing the composition.
