German Note (ゲルマン紙幣/明治通宝)

10

German banknotes were printed in 1872. Since Germany had the latest printing technology at the time, the Meiji government commissioned a German company called Dondorf & Naumann to print the notes. The design was more detailed than Daijokan-Satsu. Also, the pattern was in black and blue. German-note was portrait orientation. We can see the combination of Europe design and Japanese design.
