Hairspray Title Sequence

Everyone knows the film, Hairspray. Released in 2007, it is a musical romantic comedy based on the Broadway musical, “Hairspray.” With many stars like John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, and Zac Efron, it has become a cult classic. It was produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Maron. A film with such a big name surrounding it has to have an intriguing title sequence.

The title sequence was designed by Asylum VFX. It is in flat illustration styles but incorporates imagery for a twist. The movie is set in the 1960s, so it is only fitting that the title sequence would be inspired by the sequences designed in the 1960s by designers like Saul Bass. It is colorful and upbeat and prepares the viewer for what they will see in the film.
