Four Dark Days in History - Collector’s Edition Kennedy Assassination 1963

7

As a young kid John Fitzgerald Kennedy (Jack) was always interested in American history and government. His father Joseph Patrick Kennedy in 1937 was appointed as the US Ambassador to England which further bewildered Jack in his interest in politics especially European politics and world affairs. Jack, after college at Harvard, fought in WWII where he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his leadership and courage. Coming home allowed Jack to choose his line of work. His father suggested he run for Congress in Massachusetts eleventh congressional district. His 1946 win jump started his political career, six years later he was elected into the US Senate. In 1960 he was nominated as the Democratic party's nomination with him as their presidential nominee and Lyndon B. Johnson as his vice president. On November 22, 1963 President Kennedy was shot in his presidential car driving through the streets of adoring crowds. Not long after the incident the beloved president died and two days later police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald and charged him with murder. This 68 page booklet shows images of the events leading up to President Kennedy’s funeral, a truly horrendous moment in American History.
