Sewing Pattern Package

8

Printed in the United States, this sewing pattern was designed in 1966 by Simplicity Patterns Co. The overall packaging is made out of thin paper constructed into the form of a bag to hold instructions and other assets in order to complete such a sewing pattern. This is important to graphic designers as they are able to see how such packaging was designed in the 60s with little material. Comparing this to todays packaging of sewing patters, graphic designers can make the conclusion that the overall design hasn’t changed that much. The concept is still there, but the materials available have increased. This is a good example for understanding that even as time goes on, we still keep the same concepts of design as they were in the 60s, but we just further the overall design.
