Hiroshima Appeals 1986- Child with Dove

10

Hiroshima Appeals poster series is designed by several famous Japanese graphic designers. The third year was produced by Yoshio Hayakawa.

When creating this poster, his first idea was to avoid direct representations of "violence", "war", "nuclear bombing", etc., as opposed to "peace". Yoshio Hayakawa deliberately chose the most popular image of a child with a dove as the carrier of his call for peace, in order to let the audience see the essence of the poster at once and to add a sense of beauty to make the image appear more powerful.
