This is an 11 x 17" print of Michael Manwaring's design for one of the Pylons that were a component of the sprawling Embarcadero Historical and Interpretive Signage project in San Francisco.  Historian Nancy Leigh Olmstead and designer Michael Manwaring collaborated on this interpretive signage program that covers 2.5 miles of San Francisco's Embarcadero waterfront.

The series features 22 13-foot-high metal, black-and-white-striped pylons and multiple bronze plaques that are imprinted with photographs, stories, poetry, and drawings explaining the waterfront’s historical significance.

The final art files used for fabrication were created on a Macintosh Plus computer.
