This is a 1989 Japanese print advertisement that promotes Nintendo's MOTHER for the Famicom. MOTHER was released in Japan on July 27th, 1989. It portrays three young children as they face a gigantic and mysterious structure. The imagery presents the game as an otherworldly adventure. The slogan on the right-hand side says エンディングまで、泣くんじゃない, which means "Don't cry until the ending." What immediately grabs the viewer's attention is the O in MOTHER being replaced with an image of the Earth.
