Piet Zwart (1885–1977) was a Dutch designer, photographer, and typographer who is considered one of the pioneers of modern graphic design. Influenced by the De Stijl movement and Constructivism, he developed a bold visual style using geometric shapes, dynamic layouts, and striking typography. Zwart believed that design should be functional as well as visually engaging. His innovative work for the Dutch cable company NKF and his experimental photomontages had a lasting influence on graphic design, making him one of the most important designers of the 20th century.
