Also known as “Mitsukuni Defying the Skeleton Spectre Invoked by Princess Takiyasha.”
It is a triptych of woodblock prints made by Utagawa hiroshige. The scene depicts a famous 10th-century Japanese legend where the brave samurai Oya Taro Mitsukuni faces down a giant skeletal spirit conjured by the sorceress Princess Takiyasha. The triptych combines together 3 poster to form into one poster.
The skeleton or the theme of yokai has been incorporated into many museum poster designs today.
