Marilyn Diptych
A piece by famous artist Andy Warhol that displays a grid of the same photo of famous actress Marilyn Monroe. As the viewer looks from left to right the photos start to deteriorate and lose quality.
This does a take on the deterioration of the quality of life someone has while being exposed to society and its constantly unattainable standards of beauty. Especially when it comes to the life of Marilyn Monroe who had passed due to overdose shortly before this piece had been made.
Putting the pressure of societal standards on our shoulders can be extremely overwhelming. It will eventually destroy us from the inside out.
