The Who: Cow Palace, San Francisco 1973

66

This poster advertises The Who's Quadrophenia tour opener at the Cow Palace in San Francisco (11/20/73). The concert is famous for Keith Moon (drummer) passing out and fan Scott Halpin playing the final three songs with the rest of the band.  The design was by David Singer and printed by Tea Lautrec Litho for Bill Graham. This poster is 22'' x 28.5'' in dimensions and shows a complex, psychedelic collage type artwork of an owl roosting on a castle, and some leaves at the bottom, perfect collage for the style of David Singer in the 1970s.
