キマイラ青龍変 Chimera: Seiryuu-hen

10

This is cover and inner artwork for Baku Yumemakura's 夢枕獏 2006 novel Chimera Seiryuu-hen from his long running Chimera series. The art is illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano天野 喜孝 and graphic design is by Hideaki Shimada島田英明.

Yumemakura and Amano have been long time collaborators on various projects, from stage productions to movies, to several book cover designs such as this one.  Amano was born in 1952 in Shizuoka prefecture and from a young age was interested in drawing. He is particularly influenced by Art Nouveau, American psychadelic pop art, and Japanese printmaking techniques like Ukiyo-e. He is perhaps most famous for his work on video games, particularly the Final Fantasy Series.
