The official mascot Hodori that represented the Seoul 1988 Olympics is a tiger, an animal that frequently appears in Korean traditional folk tales and legends. He is wearing a sangmo hat with a long paper (pi-ji) that is typically worn for a dance performances in Korean folk arts.
