This is a book written by Robert Darton, a professor of history at Harvard University, it discusses about the development of text carriers in the information technology era.

About the image of the cover, the design  presents a book-in-book effect, and the different cables interfaces in the picture echo the content related to the existence of books in the era when e-readers are popular.
In terms of typeface design, almost every word in the title "The case for books" uses a different font. The first word“the” uses a complex cursive font close to spencerian script, “Case” and “Books” and the author name “Robert Darton” use simple Times New Roman font, and the preposition “for” uses a thin font with serifs looks close to handwriting style.
