Nirvana Over The Rainbow Tour Poster

This poster was designed by Frank Kozik for the Rock group we all know, Nirvana. It was made specifically for their 1993 "Over the Rainbow" tour alongside The Breeders and Shonen Knife. It contains bright colored illustrations of two children playing with a bizarre creature in a field. Perhaps there is more method to the seeming madness of the creature itself that I am not hip to due to my ignorance associated with the lore of Nirvana, but I think this is a captivating poster, nonetheless. The design itself is quite standard and simple, which I find plays into the 90s timeframe, as intricate design and illustration of certain types was still on the rise and not yet at its peak.

Frank Kozik did a lot of music poster work in his lifetime for many known artists, including Pearl Jam and the Beastie Boys, to name a few. He gave new strength to poster art in the 1980s and 1990s, and played a vital role in the modern music poster print scene as we know it before his death in 2023.
