Fight the Cuts
See Red Women's Workshop was founded by ex-art students Pru Stevenson, Suzy Mackie, and Julia Franco in 1974. As they shared skills and knowledge they developed posters to ignite activism through the feminist agenda. With their mission to combat negative images of women in media, they were able to do so through their attention-grabbing posters. Fight the Cuts is a screen print that communicates this simply and effectively, and ultimately represents See Red as most of their posters do. The collective approach to activism not only generates more design strategies, but also unites these women under a common goal. Although ended in 1990, there have about 45 women to pass through See Red as innovators, designers, and activists.
