Ugo Finozzi was an Italian artist and illustrator born in 1874 in Florence, Italy. He is best known for his Italian war posters and propaganda.

According to the Library of Congress, advertisements and posters were commonly used to promote Italian government bonds, as Italy relied on domestic and international loans to finance their involvement in World War I. This poster serves as an example of this by advertising the five-percent loan of 1916.

The poster depicts a winged version of the symbolic character, Victory wielding a sword and laurel wreath. Finozzi uses an ancient Roman style serif in order to convey traditional Italian values and patriotism.
