In this linocut screenprint, Juan R. Fuentes illustrates a Chicano man and frames him with different names such as “tio", “amigo”, “abuelo” … (uncle, friend, grandfather, brother, father, son) in order to fight racially based reductionist  slurs and stereotypes of Mexicans in the USA. By humanizing the subject beyond a harmful one dimensional stereotype Fuentes creates an opportunity for empathy and relationship building. His work can be seen in the Mexican Museum and is connected to the Chicano Civil Rights Movement.
