Elah is an Italian confectionery company founded in Genoa in 1909 by Francesco Ferdinando Moliè.
This advertisement, featured on the back cover of issue 15 (April 9, 1939) of the weekly magazine "L'illustrazione italiana", depicts the Disney character Snow White as she asks the wishing well for the best “bombon”, the one from Elah company. The advertisement was designed, as noted in the upper right corner, by the Elah propaganda office. Walt Disney is not mentioned, likely because in 1939 Fascist Italy, although not yet at war, was aligned with Nazi Germany and therefore opposed to the United States.
