Created by Charles Dana Gibson in 1895 for the June issue of Scribner's magazine. Printed poster from a zinc engraving; sheet 56.2 x 35.7 cm. Features the famous “Gibson Girl” created by the artist Charles Gibson and represents the “ideal woman” who is seen in this poster as enjoying physical activities in a beautiful, graceful way. She was often shown in ways that promoted an active role in society.
