This is an article, written by Martha Scotford, for the now defunct AIGA Journal of Graphic Design in which the author uses insights from data she collected from some of the first graphic design history textbooks to identify and debate an emerging canon. The excerpt posted here was published in Volume 9, Issue 2. It includes the cover and pages 3–5 and 13.
