Masuteru Aoba is an art director and graphic designer who had focused on social themes starting from his 60s. A Hiroshima Appeals poster involving citizen participation was created. Representing Hiroshima, Japan, and people worldwide, participants stamped "Peace" on the poster. Contributors included the Hiroshima mayor, city officials, media, medical association, Peace Memorial Park museum staff, students, members of the Japan Graphic Designers Association, former Hiroshima Appeals poster designers, printing technicians, friends, family, and his young grandchildren. He encourages everyone to add "Peace" to their daily communications, fostering peace in each person's heart, emphasizing that peace grows from within, not through military force.
