Kaoru Kasai is the art director in Japan who is known for designing who works across the fields of advertising. As he faced the blank paper and thought of Hiroshima, its whiteness reminded him of the dazzling summer sun when looking up at the sky, and naturally, the artwork took this form. As he continued to paint, various thoughts surged within him. He reflected that people are supported by and think of others, which is why they can live. The atomic bomb can never take away the love and affection for cherished ones imprinted on a person’s heart. He hopes that those who see this poster will reflect on their own thoughts and feelings.
