Kobayashi Kiyochika created this woodblock print during the Sino-Japanese War. It depicts the soliders fighting in a battle and showing proof that people were there and that the images shown are true for propaganda. These were very popular during the war because of the vivid colors, dramatic and emotional content that was expressed.
