This was an advertisement for Parco from 1986, designed by Tsuguya Inoue. Born in 1947 in Miyazaki Prefecture, he has had an extensive career working with major Japanese names such as Parco, Comme des Garcon, and The Asahi Shimbun Company.
He had famous singers such as James Brown and Chuck Berry in his advertisements at Parco in the 1980s. His work was bold but simple. American singer James Brown serves as the main focus of the advertisement. His sweat and his expression make it seem as if the consumer was at one of his live shows watching him perform. According to Ginza Magazine, on the day of the shoot, James was not feeling well, and his face was pale. However, once the crew played his song, “Get Up “he began to sing, and life returned to his face again. The background is a bright cherry red while the text font is a subdued orange red. The text at the bottom right reads Parco and the smaller text on the right side of his face reads,” Love Saves Many".
