Postcard - The Fairman Company

8

A well-aged, image dominant, Christmas-themed postcard. This gorgeous print depicts a beautiful sunrise in a snowy woodland. The bottom of the card has a short typographic segment beginning with a beautiful green and red drop cap. The illustration itself showcases realism of the foreground mixed with more abstract figures with flat colors towards the background. The mixing of more modern elements with the dated drop cap blended the styles of old and new designs crafting something that is both daring and elegant. The “Pink of Perfection” was a trademark under the Fairman Company. This enterprise printed many gorgeous postcards, and this specific card sits as the company’s Series Number 4799, as a part of their Christmas collection. The condition of the card consists of a natural aging of the paper, a crease on the top left corner and a group of faded black shipping stamp marks on the top right. This postcard was shipped by the United States post office in 1914.
