This large print on Japanese washi paper was made by artist Okuyama Gihachiro in 1949 with the collaboration of the printer Inomura Masanosuke. Okuyama Gihachiro was an artist known for shin-hanga and sosaku-hanga styles. This is one of the shin-hanga woodblock prints he created which has evocative colors and smooth gradiations. This piece is taken from the series “Landscape Prints of Japan”.
