Bauhaus Ausstellung Weimar Juli - August - September 1923
This lithograph is a piece from a collection of 60 postcards. These postcards, created by students and artists, were displayed in the first ever exhibition of the Bauhaus school. Walter Gropius commissioned various artists for specifically 20 postcards to use as promotional flyers for the event. These postcards represent the traditional principles of the bauhaus with geometric shapes, basic colors and fonts, and asymmetry. This aesthetic influenced art throughout the rest of the 20th century and is still represented in art today.
