Sea Things printed fabric

"Ray submitted this design to the Museum of Modern Art’s 1947 “Competition for Printed Fabrics.” MoMA gave it an honorable mention, and in the early 1950s Waverly Products used the motif for a serving tray in various color combinations. Unlike her other fabric designs, many of which were produced commercially, this one employs organic, natural shapes with a complex charm and whimsy." –Louise Sandhaus, Earthquakes, Mudslides, Fires & Riots: California and Graphic Design 1936-1986
