The World Famous Open Kitchen Ad

The Open Kitchen opened in Charlotte in 1952 and has been a staple in the community ever since. Started by brothers Steve and Speros Kokenes the Open Kitchen introduced Charlotte to the "pizza pie" and their menu which combines elements from Italian, Greek, and American cuisines. The Open Kitchen expanded in the 60s and 70s, to its current size, due to it's popularity and success. This print ad from 1975 references both the Italian and "international cuisine" their menu offers while also advertising their banquet rooms.
