The flyer was deigned by Roger Excoffon in a mixture of very gestural hand lettering - at which he excelled - and types which he designed for the Olive typefoundry in Marseilles: Banco for the number 52 and Chambord for the text. The typefaces which Excoffon designed for the Olive typefoundry - notably Chambord, Banco, Mistral, Choc and Antique Olive - left an indelible imprint on French typography in the post Second World War period and are still to be seen in commercial signage all over France today. His typefaces have attracted the attention of a new generation of French designers in recent years.
