This is the front and back cover of TV Guide Vol. 49, No. 39 that contained TV listings for September 29th through October 5th, 2001. This issue was especially impactful as it was the first post-9/11 TV Guide issue, and include news and memorials related to the 9/11 tragedy.
The covers are interesting from a design standpoint, and show that the design team used very bold and impactful type for the headline but condensed all other type to let the images carry the weight of the news contained inside. The design is simple and respects the topic, while also hinting at the severity of 9/11 and its aftermath.
