My First Book of Colors

7

This picture book for children is an educational tool used to learn colors while still keeping the child’s attention. Little Landoll’s Books, from the Landoll publishing company, focuses on bringing high-quality coloring, puzzle & educational books to life for their customers. The simple pictures are easy to identify and relate to colors such as a red apple and a red ladybug. The display fonts are very bubbly and soft in order to look very friendly. On the other hand, the body copy is a very legible san-serif type that is easy to read with wide kerning. This book shows the more simple side of graphic design and how each item, depending on the intentional use, has a specific style that fits. When designing children’s books versus novels for an older age range the graphic designer takes it upon themselves to create something interesting for each genre, purpose, and related story.
