This poster designed by Paula Scher is one example of how she turned her first major project as a partner at Pentagram into a “formative twenty-five-year relationship with the Public Theater in New York.” It serves as an advertisement for a show being performed in Central Park and appeals to a young audience with its more modern design concept. The neon colors and bold typeface reflect the popular design choices from the early 2000s. Although the concept is simple, it clearly advertises the show using colors and forms that reflect the nature of the subject being presented. The play on words by placing “Shakespeare in Central Park” adds additional informative interest that the young audience would be attracted to.
