Newtype: April, 1988

Newtype’s April 1988 edition is what’s documented in this archive. The cover and logo of this 1980s Newtype magazine was designed by Tetsuya Asakura, with the original art of “Nu Gundam” from the 1988 action anime film “Char’s Counter Attack” featured on the cover and painted by artist Masanori Nishii. The commemoration of comic GENKI’s third anniversary is written across the bottom of the front cover in gold color, in addition to the announcement of new films and information relating to Gundam being included in this release. On the back of the magazine is art and information related to new content released for Japanese anime Aura Battle Dunbine and Armored Trooper VOTOMS, including CD releases of each anime’s soundtrack.
