Less Fossil Burning

9

Less Fossil Burning is a 2016 environmental poster by Iranian poster designer Behnam Raeesian. The work shows the form of a sea wave transformed into cracked, dry land, suggesting how fossil fuel consumption, global warming, and ecological neglect can turn living water into exhausted terrain.

The poster was exhibited in Zhongshan, Guangxi, China, and documented by the artist in 2016. As part of Raeesian’s early environmental poster work, it reflects his symbolic approach to social and ecological issues: a wave, normally associated with movement and life, becomes a fossilized image of drought and environmental collapse.
