Graphic design is used for various purposes, two major ones being advertising and campaigns. One category of these are the ones put out by corporations to promote their sustainability practices. They often use the visual language of environmentalism and nature to make themselves seem legitimate. This campaign shows a picture of the Earth. The Earth is given a smile, which, in addition to matching the campaign, provides the ad with an air of positivity. The smile itself is made of the product itself. The thread here is that toothpaste makes your teeth nice and lets you smile, and that their push toward sustainability will make the Earth smile
