Rudy's Tavern print flyer from the early 1950s advertising a 75-cent boneless catfish supper. In 1950, owners Rudy and Thelma Bossard owned and operated the tavern down the road from the site where they were building their more well-known restaurant, bar, and house, The Hollywood Inn in Monticello, Iowa. Rudy was from Hammond, Indiana, and Thelma was the daughter of Norwegian immigrants who lived in Cottonwood, Minnesota. Rudy operated the business until his retirement in 1984, following Thelma's unexpected death in 1964. Though no longer a restaurant, the building still stands and is owned by the couple's granddaughter.
