In the late 1960s abstract painter and professor at the University of California, Harold Cohen created an Artificial intelligence program named AARON. AARON was the first AI software in the world of fine arts and it made its debut in 1974. The software created a composition of a variety of flowers, rocks, and abstract forms. As of 2024, the Whitney Museum of American Art is holding an exhibition of Cohen's work through AARON through May 19th.
