This vinyl entitled More Real Folk Blues was released by Sonny Boy Williamson in 1966 under Chess Records. This is a collection of 12 Chess Records recordings made in Chicago between 1957 and 1963. The album was released as LP-1503 in January 1966, six months after Williamson died in Helena, Arkansas. One of his influential recordings entitled “Checking Up On My Baby”, recorded in April 1960 featured great musicians like Otis Spann (piano), Robert Lockwood Jr. (guitar), Luther Tucker (guitar), Willie Dixon (electric bass), and Fred Below (drums). The cover is a coated thin cardboard with a slight turquoise background, chunky sans serif, and one of Williamson's famous hats and the well-known harmonica he plays on the album. This piece is important to graphic design history for its compelling diagonal composition leading your eye down to the focal point of who Sonny Boy Williamson truly is.
