Ikko Tanaka (1930–2002)

He has sublimated Japanese shapes, colors, and textures into modern designs and has received worldwide praise for his dignified and elegant style. He has also participated in national projects, such as designing the medals for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and designing the exhibits for the Japanese Government Building No. 1 at the 1970 Osaka World Exposition.

This work also incorporates waves, bamboo, and paintings of beautiful women that are reminiscent of Japan, but the vivid and eccentric colors give it a modern feel.
