In the mid-1960s, Decca took on a new label called “DERAM” which was a leading progressive label of the time. This sleeve is designed differently than any of the other sleeves of the 60s. This is the moment in which music and Decca Records went through a radical change of style and concept. It is evident through the minimal and solid design of the sleeve, that Decca wanted to portray the successful change they were enforcing. The solid orange color block conveys a sense of optimism and strength for the future. The typeface used is of serif style, which is unusual considering Decca’s traditional use of sans-serif typography. Decca was now known as a state-of-the-art production company at the time.
