The record is a 45rpm vinyl produced by Atlantic Recording Corp. The label is divided into two color blocks, the upper half black and the lower half orange. First introduced in 1947, the logo is done in orange sans serif type. The crossbar of the A underlines the rest of the letters. The other information is listed in the lower half orange block of the label.
Atlantic Records was originally founded for soul, R&B, and jazz music, especially by African American artists. The soul aspect particularly took off in the late 60’s with Aretha Franklin’s success. This soul record is one of the productions of that era. The logo from the 70’s that is displayed on this record marks a time in graphic design history before their current, ultra-modernized logo appeared.
