This is a digital copy of a record sleeve cover for “The Orange Bird Song” produced by Disneyland Records. It was sung by the Florida Citrus Commission spokesperson, Anita Bryant, in 1971. The Orange Bird was introduced as a mascot to promote not only the Florida Citrus Commission and Florida citrus industry but the newly built Disney World theme park, Magic Kingdom, in Central Florida.  The Orange Bird was a marketing campaign to promote tourism and agriculture in Florida and appeared on television, print media and in animated short films. The Orange Bird collaboration with Anita Bryant and the Florida Citrus Commission was successful until 1977 when Bryant's anti-gay “Save Our Children” campaign in Dade County, Florida resulted in negative publicity. The Orange Bird character would return to Disney World in 2012.
