riot grrrl Zine

350

Created by the 90's punk bands from Olympia, Washington, Bratmobile and Bikini Kill, the Riot Grrrl zines played a large role in feminist graphic design. They fused music, politics, and grassroots publishing, amplifying marginalized voices of women within the punk genre. These zines were known for their raw, rebellious aesthetic with hand-drawn images and confrontational typography. They embodied the DIY culture of the time while simultaneously challenging traditional design norms.
